Meeting with Santa

So I am not quite sure what it is … but my kids do NOT like being near Santa. I am not the mom to force a kid to sit on a strangers lap – and because of that we have no Santa Clause photos. That is probably why this photo means so much to me. We went to go see Santa Parachute in and as Santa made his way through the crowd – I asked Hayden if he wanted to go up to him… and he said very politely – “no Thank you”… but a minute later – something changed and when I told him I would go with him – He said OK.  We made our way into the sea of people. Every time we almost were there – Santa would walk away… this happened a few times. Emotion started to well up in me – as I knew that Haydens need to see Santa was so much bigger than just getting a Candy Cane from him. I started calling out “SANTA!!” .. is desperation. Suddenly he turned around … handed my son a candy cane and I am not sure what made him take a moment,… but he did – and he said lets take a photo for your mom. With no time to set my settings – I was on a click and a prayer.  This photo means so much more then having the exposure correct . Even if it would have been blurry – It would still bring up an emotion that is hard to put into words. I know the story behind this photo – to me this is Christmas.
