2012 and Beyond……..

Well it is the first day of 2012 and I  am sitting on the couch listening to Hayden read a book to his sister while she brushes  her baby dolls hair. Not one to make resolutions – since that is normally the kiss of death for any success.  I have learned the art of living every day the best that I can. I am far from perfect – but I don’t desire to change those imperfections. …would I like to lose 5 lbs – sure… would I like to spend more time with the kids instead of on the computer – ABSOLUTELY! Would I like to be half the parent that my husband is  – 100%. And so I start each day not looking to be perfect – just looking to be better.  Does this desire start on January 1st – no.  This is my hope at the start of everyday – I know what I need to do – the question is will I actually follow through. Will I beat myself up if I don’t. No – because I am not perfect and I find peace in not striving to pretend that I am.

So what will 2012 bring??  Will my son finally learn to tie his shoes? Will he lose those top two teeth – the teeth that change him from my little boy to” OH MY Goodness – he has grown -up”.  Will Emerson finally be potty trained? Will she loose her curls after she gets her first haircut this year.  Vacations still left to be planned, time spent with family that we don’t see as much as we like – Will we be blessed with another year of health. Will my Mother-in-law continue to KICK cancers BOOTAY?? Another year of  building LEGOS, Another year of being tremendously grateful for the goodness that has entered our life in this little town called Frisco. Will it bring a new pregnancy – will it see the end of one.  Will the UPS guy get a restraining order on me due to my stalking his truck as I impatiently await  the arrival of new  camera equipment, will my business continue to grow and expand with plans of workshops and selling of actions. Will I continue to love photography as much as I do now – or will I begin to feel the effect of the 7 day work week. Will I come to terms  with the fact that I can’t please everyone – despite how much I wish I could. Will I become a better blogger …. ok – lets not  go getting crazy ahead of ourselves.

So my resolution on this bright Sunday morning is to  continue to put one step in front of the other- blessed for the day  that I have with the people I love and recognizing what a privilege it is to have a job doing what I love.

Bring it on 2012 –  I am ready for ya!
